The life of a gregario

This is the story of Idrio Bui. Born in 1932 from a modest family in the Tuscany country side, Idrio started to race using his mother's bike. After some glorious races in the dilettanti, in 1957 he was chosen from Fausto Coppi in Fausto's late carreer "Coppi-Chigi" team as a gregario for the uphills. Longside the "campionissimo" Idrio attended seven Giro d'italia and two Vuelta de Espana. He raced against champions like Bartali, Anquetil, Bahamontes, Gaul, Poblet, Bobet, Nencini, Baldini. Today Idrio still lives in Tuscany, rides again his mother bike and is still in love with his wife.
